Changing times...
The club has seen a few of the seasoned members hang up their shoes over the last couple of years and the club would like to thank them for their efforts on maintaining and running an enjoyable club for many years.
It is also great to see the next generation stepping up and taking on roles and responsibilities of keeping the club going. This does require quite a bit of effort for those helping, volunteering and generally giving up their time so everyone can enjoy the training, matches, tournaments, friendlies and socials.
The AGM has been and gone for 2023 and we are looking forward to the 2023/24 season starting sometime around September / October.
If you are interested in playing or joining as always please do get in contact.
Season 2021/22 is underway...
It is almost like normal service has been resumed, except no changing ends, shaking hands and now sanitizing balls.
Div 1 is a little odd this season with only 4 teams so all teams will be playing each other home and away twice. Div 2 meanwhile has 9 teams, a few must be due for promotion next season to balance out the numbers.
Training has resumed on Thursday (when no home game) and with a recent influx of new people coming down and joining in we are getting reasonable numbers along to make sessions work well. Checkout out the calendar, links and contact us for useful details and activity.
We're on hold...
As you are probably aware, government policy on social distancing and unnecessary travel now precludes club sport.
The SVA have suspended the league until further notice, so all remaining matches will be postponed if not cancelled.
In the interests of members’ safety, and that of the wider community, the committee has decided to suspend training and other physical events for the foreseeable future. We will let you know when it is possible to resume volleyball - hopefully in time for the new season or a few summer tournaments!
Chessington Sports Centre has also closed for the time being.
New season, training starts...
New season is getting under way so we are starting again with training on 5th September 2019, normal Chessington venue and timing 20:00 - 22:00.
Fixtures and teams are yet to be finalised but training is open for all to come along, join in have fun and improve.
SEVA 2019
This season we finished 3rd in the league just missing out on the official SEVA invite, fortunately for us Richmond weren't up for the event and we got an invite after all.
As a late entry we didn't have a full 1st team squad so we entered a mixture of our 1st and 2nd team. The competition was tough on the day but the whole team worked well together and we delivered a strong performance and made it through to the semi finals. SEVA is a tough competition though and after a long day the team couldn't quite hold out against a stronger opposition and we just lost out in the semi final.
